Part III Optional Subject | Afzal-ul-Ulama Programme

This course introduces students to selected chapters from the Qur’an and essential Hadith literature, providing a foundational understanding of classical Arabic religious texts. Learners study thematic, linguistic, and moral dimensions of the Qur’anic chapters and Hadith selections while strengthening their reading and comprehension skills in classical Arabic.

What Will You Learn?

  • Read and understand selected Surahs from the Qur’an
  • Identify key themes, values, and linguistic features in Qur’anic passages
  • Study essential Hadith from Riyad al-Saliheen and understand their meanings
  • Develop basic skills in interpreting classical Islamic texts
  • Appreciate the moral, spiritual, and ethical teachings of Qur’an and Hadith

Part I – Qur’an
Unit 1: Surah Al-Fatiha, Surah Yaseen Unit 2: Surah Al-Mu’minoon Unit 3: Surah Yusuf (Selected Aayaat)

Part II – Hadith
Unit 4: Ikhlaas, Taqwa, Sabr, Muraaqaba, Al-Yaqeen, Al-Mujaahada Unit 5: Good manners, Avoiding harm, Maintaining Sunnah, Charity, Brotherhood, Advice
